3D Walkthrough
Traditional architectural drawings are a foreign language for most homeowners. Plans and elevations are specialized views that do not provide laypeople with a visual image of how their house will look, thereby leaving the client out of the design process. On the right side of the page are multiple views of the same room. You can see how much more information can be communicated in the perspective and rendered views.
At Light House Design we believe in demystifying design and making the client an integral part of the process. Rather than discuss fenestration, we talk about windows. More significantly, our pioneering use of 3D computer modeling throughout the entire
design process enables you to visualize how your house will actually look, and to try out various what-if scenarios in real time.
Many design firms use CAD (computer aided design) systems to produce drawings. However, most CAD systems simply recreate the typical architectural views of plans and elevations. They are used to improve the designer's productivity, not to enhance the client's ability to visualize the design. Because 3D modeling creates perspective views and allows surfaces to be rendered, it is the only CAD system that benefits the client.
All our design work is created in 3D modeling software, it is integral to our design practice. You can view your house from any angle, inside or out. We also can render surfaces to show you what a fireplace might look like in brick, stone, or tile, or how various lighting schemes would make a room feel. In fact, we can show you exactly how much sunlight will enter a particular window at any particular time or date!
