Bidding and Contracts
Finding out what your design will cost to build, and entering into a construction contract with the builder, are critical parts of the homebuilding or renovation process.
A contract is a "meeting of the minds" between the contractor and owner regarding what will be built, how it will be built, and how much it will cost. Because many of the issues construction contracts address are poorly understood by owners, they are the basis of many "nightmare" experiences. It's worth it to familiarize yourself with some of the terms and concepts used in contracts, so you can choose the type that best fits your requirements.
