Building or renovating your home, like most things, is a compromise between your dreams and reality. Maybe you'd like to have the house done before the new baby arrives, or in time for Thanksgiving, or for an amount of money that will allow you to buy a few pieces of furniture when you're done. Your goals may be attainable, or totally unrealistic, so it's important to get input from professionals early on, so you don't get wedded to the impossible dream.
