SOUTH END, BOSTON
WHAT
Renovation
One of my favorite projects, we gutted a five-story former convent and created a single family home with a variety of living spaces. The design is a blend of classically inspired details with some modern touches. Using steel beams enabled us to create a more open space, within the constraints of a connected townhouse. A repetitive theme of inlaid columns and arches unifies various spaces. The baths range from ultra-modern to traditional elegance (like a fine hotel, guests can choose their quarters based on the personal taste). The living room features a beamed ceiling with translucent shoji panels to provide the illusion of a penthouse on the second level.
